About
Built by people who've been there
Viink started with a simple worry: what if no one checks in today? We built the tool we wished existed.
The story
It started with a phone call that didn't come. A parent living alone, a day that felt a little too quiet, and the creeping anxiety that something might be wrong. Sound familiar?
We looked for a solution and found nothing that felt right. Location trackers felt invasive. Daily calls felt like pressure. Wearable devices felt clinical. We wanted something that fit naturally into everyday life — a gentle nod that says "I'm here".
So we built viink. A quiet check-in sent from your phone, answered with a single tap. No apps to learn. No subscriptions to justify. Just the reassurance that your loved one is okay — and an alert if they're not.
The name comes from the Danish word vink — a small wave or gesture that simply says hello. That's all this is. A wave across the distance.
What we believe
Privacy first
We don't track location, read messages, or collect data we don't need. A check-in is a signal — nothing more.
Designed for everyone
Your loved one shouldn't need to learn new technology. If they can tap a notification, they can use viink.
Honest simplicity
No dark patterns, no manipulative notifications, no pressure. We'd rather you cancel than feel trapped.
Reliability over features
An alert that doesn't arrive is worse than no app at all. We obsess over uptime and delivery, not feature lists.
